What happens when you convert

Conversion re-encodes your image in the target format. Modern formats like WebP and AVIF usually produce smaller files than JPEG or PNG, but the direction matters: converting a small WebP to PNG will normally grow the file. The result view reports the byte change honestly in both directions.

If an image is already in the target format, nothing is uploaded — the tool tells you instead of charging you an operation. Files are processed privately and permanently deleted after two hours.
